AGES FM 2026
AGES Focus Meeting 2026
InterContinental Hotel Sydney, Double Bay
30 - 31 October 2026
Welcome
On behalf of the organising committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to the 2026 AGES Focus Meeting in Sydney: Rise of the Machines.
Over two days, we will explore one of the most rapidly evolving and disruptive periods in modern medicine: the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence, and surgical practice.
What was once science fiction is now firmly embedded in our clinics, operating theatres, imaging platforms, documentation systems, training programs, and patient interactions. AI is already influencing the way we consult, diagnose, communicate, operate, document, teach, and learn. Robotics continues to reshape complex surgery across multiple specialties, while raising important questions around access, equity, training, safety, sustainability, and the future role of the surgeon.
This meeting has been designed not simply as a showcase of technology, but as a comprehensive exploration of what these advances mean for us as gynaecologists, surgeons, educators, and leaders.
Our exceptional faculty brings together experts from gynaecology, robotics, AI development, imaging, fertility, ethics, industry, education, and beyond. Across the program, we will move from the global landscape of AI and robotics, to practical applications already changing daily clinical practice, through to the ethical, medico-legal and societal challenges that accompany rapid technological change - and a exploration of robotic surgery across the spectrum of procedures we commonly perform.
Importantly, this meeting is designed for the practising FRANZCOG specialist and trainee alike, whether you are already deeply engaged with robotics and AI, cautiously curious, or entirely sceptical. The goal is not blind enthusiasm, nor fear-driven resistance, but thoughtful, evidence-based discussion about how we navigate this new era responsibly, safely and effectively.
The day prior to the meeting, we are excited to offer a special pre-conference ‘AI for Doctors’ workshop - a practical, clinician-led immersion into the rapidly evolving world of AI in healthcare, focused on real-world tools, workflow integration, safety, ethics, and immediate applications for everyday medical practice. Bring your laptop and learn how to harness these tools to transform your practice!
Alongside the scientific program and workshop, we hope you will enjoy reconnecting with colleagues from across Australia and New Zealand, engaging with our industry partners, and experiencing Sydney in spring.
Thank you to our outstanding speakers, convenors, sponsors, exhibitors and the AGES team whose vision and work have brought this meeting together.
With the exhibition almost nearly sold out, demand for this meeting is expected to be extremely high, so we encourage you to register early to avoid disappointment.
We look forward to welcoming you to Sydney for what promises to be a dynamic, provocative, sometimes terrifying and always memorable meeting.
