{"id":485,"date":"2024-02-22T05:58:48","date_gmt":"2024-02-22T05:58:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/events.ages.com.au\/lap-d-workshops-2024\/?page_id=485"},"modified":"2025-12-10T01:31:25","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T01:31:25","slug":"demonstration","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/events.ages.com.au\/lap-d-workshops\/demonstration\/","title":{"rendered":"LAP-Demonstration Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p><strong>AGES WORKSHOPS<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 id=\"Laparoscopic_Anatomy__Pelvic_Demonstration_Lap_Demo_Workshop\">LAP-Demo Workshop<\/h1>\n<p>Registration for the 2026 LAP-D Workshops will open by 1st December 2025:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sunday, 30th August 2026 (VIRTUAL)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<h2 id=\"Laparoscopic_Anatomy__Pelvic_Demonstration_Lap_Demo_Workshop\">AGES LAP-Demo Workshop<\/h2>\n\t<p>The <strong>AGES Laparoscopic Anatomy &amp; Pelvic Demonstration (LAP-Demo) Workshop<\/strong> is suitable for all levels of RANZCOG trainees and specialists.<\/p>\n<p>It is a single day, intensive, pelvic anatomy primer, for those wishing to expand their knowledge of what lies beneath the pelvic and abdominal peritoneum.<\/p>\n<p>AGES aims to allow access to quality anatomy teaching by providing a number of courses that focus on a functional laparoscopic approach to pelvic anatomy.\u00a0 The demonstration course allows for thirty registrants to participate in lectures, watch live surgery and interact with highly skilled laparoscopic surgeons as they delve into the anatomical aspects of the female pelvis.<\/p>\n<p>The dissection is performed on female fresh frozen donors at the Medical Engineering and Research Facility (MERF), Queensland University of Technology (QUT) facility in Brisbane.<\/p>\n<p>Highly interactive presentations are followed by the relevant focused dissections. These being performed on six compartments of the pelvis and abdomen.<\/p>\n<p>All participants will be provided with pre-reading and copies of the presentations a week prior to the workshop.<\/p>\n<p>Registrants can expect to increase their anatomical knowledge and awareness allowing for improved surgical confidence and outcomes and reduced complications for their the<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Abdominal wall, and pelvic surface anatomy<\/li>\n<li>Pelvic bony anatomy, neurovascular relations, muscles, ligaments<\/li>\n<li>Pelvic viscera, bladder, uterus, ovaries and the rectum<\/li>\n<li>Midline and lateral avascular spaces, and the pelvic sidewall<\/li>\n<li>Surgical layers of the pelvic sidewall (ureter, vessels and nerves)<\/li>\n<li>Anatomy of pelvic floor (muscle, nerves, vessels, relation for prolapse surgery)<\/li>\n<li>Anatomical distribution of pelvic nerves including somatic and autonomic system<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of nerve sparing procedures in endometriosis and other gynaecological anatomical procedures, with a retro peritoneal approach for dissection<\/li>\n<li>Upper abdomen anatomy (sigmoid, caecum, small bowel, diaphragm, para-aortic lymph nodes, mesentery, omentum, ureteric relations)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5 id=\"fl-accordion--label-3\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\">Learning
