{"id":232,"date":"2020-11-24T04:51:34","date_gmt":"2020-11-24T04:51:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/events.ages.com.au\/lap-d-workshops-2023\/?page_id=232"},"modified":"2025-11-12T01:50:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T01:50:13","slug":"advanced-dissection","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/events.ages.com.au\/lap-d-workshops\/advanced-dissection\/","title":{"rendered":"Advanced LAP-Dissection Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p><strong>AGES WORKSHOPS<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1><strong>Advanced LAP-D Workshop<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t<h2>AGES ALAP-D Workshop<\/h2>\n\t<p>The <strong>AGES Advanced Laparoscopic Anatomy &amp; Pelvic Dissection (ALAP-D) Workshop<\/strong> is designed for AGES Members who are Specialist Gynaecologists with advanced laparoscopic training who wish to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expand their knowledge of pelvic, abdominal, and retroperitoneal anatomy<\/li>\n<li>Hone their laparoscopic surgical dissection and teaching skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There will be a particular focus on identification of the pelvic nerves and nerve-sparing surgical techniques.<\/p>\nHands-on laparoscopic dissection sessions utilising fresh frozen, female donors follow the relevant anatomical lecture series.<br \/>\nThe workshops are held at the Medical Engineering and Research Facility (MERF), Queensland University of Technology (QUT) facility in Brisbane.\n<p>Three participants are assigned to each donor and will be closely supervised by an experienced advanced laparoscopic surgical instructor. Each participant will have the opportunity to operate, assist and observe to optimise the learning experience as they rotate evenly through each step.<\/p>\n<p>The course focuses on the approaches to dissection of the pelvic sidewall with a particular emphasis on the surgical layers and surgical spaces and the anatomical structures contained within them. Retroperitoneal spaces around the bladder, pelvic floor, large bowel and kidneys are all explored. There is a particular focus on identification of the pelvic nerves and nerve sparing surgical techniques. Eligible Fellows of this college can claim <strong>8.5 CPD Hours<\/strong>\u00a0for full attendance.<\/p>\n<p>All attendance certificates will be emailed a week following the conference.
